Every tin and bottle is labeled by hand at our family-owned business in York, SC. Product labels display symbols at the top to assist with suggested uses.
For years, our products have been a pantry staple in the homes of our friends and family. We treasure our family's larger-than-life personalities and our traditions. We look for opportunities to include them in our product names.

I am the owner, designer and craftsman of
Sum Dude's Spices and Rubs.
I am married to my beautiful wife (Lisa) and get to be a full-time Girl Dad for our daughter (Maelee). We are a Christian family and cherish the family traditions and business that we are building together.
I served in the US Navy before I pursued my culinary career. When I'm not doing family activities or investing time into our business, I enjoy working out, reading the YouVersion Bible App, watching sporting events, listening to all genres of music, and creating an atmosphere of fellowship and service for others. I consider myself to be a retired Mud Race "Finisher."
For over 30 years, I’ve been in the restaurant industry. In 2003, I became a Certified Executive Chef. I've had opportunities to serve in a multitude of establishments such as 5-Diamond Resorts, Country Clubs, Corporate and Family-Owned Restaurants. In 2001, I had the honor and privilege to serve at George W. Bush's inauguration dinner. I have a blessed career but what keeps me grounded is my family and friends.
At a very young age, I can recall as far back as living in Leslie SC and watching my Grandad and Dad prepare our meals. There are too many stories to share but among all of our BBQs, dinners at DaRiva, and grilling with our PGP Tours tailgating family, food and banter seem to be what brings us together. My granddad used to say we had enough mouth for another set of teeth…which could mean a lot of things but definitely that Popes like to eat.
